LEAHY'S LADS: The Story of the Famous Notre Dame Teams of the 1940s
by Jack Connor

Synopsis: Here, for the first time, is the full and true story of legendary football coach Frank Leahy of Notre Dame and of the players who achieved an incredible record under his guidance. Leahy's teams dominated the 1940s with four National Championships, three Heisman Trophy winners, dozens of All-Americans, two Outland Trophy winners, and 10 players who would later become NFL Hall-of-Famers.

Yet, Leahy's Lads chronicles more than gridiron glory: it is the story of a spirit and bond that Leahy's "lads" have kept alive and deepened over the decades. Jack Connor allows us to eavesdrop on the human and humorous tales that are told at their annual reunions: memories of Moose, McArdle, and Druze...senior proms and pep rallies...headbanging scrimmages, locker room talks, and great rivalries.
