One of the most recognized names in the recent football history is Raghib "Rocket" Ismail (Rah-GIBB ISS-my-ell)! Ismail started his vaunted football career at Notre Dame and immediately put on display the game breaking ability that earned him his appropriate nickname. He was a two-time first-team All-American as sophomore in '89 and junior in '90 as well as the Walter Camp Player of the Year in '90. Ismail holds records for pass reception yards per catch in a career with 22.0 (71 for 1565); kickoff returns for touchdowns in a game with two (vs. Rice in 1988 and again vs. Michigan in 1989) and in a career with five; and kick return yards per attempt in a career with 22.6 (17 for 1607). The Rocket helped lead Notre Dame to the 1988 National Championship.
