George Gipp
is one of the most legendary athletes of this century - and perhaps the
most misunderstood. His brief life - which included an outstanding
football career at Notre Dame - was filled with devilment and virtue, and
eventually crushing heartbreak from the one woman he could not have.

teammate and for years the authority on Notre Dame football
history.
