Volume 4
No.2 October
2001
This
month's edition of Irish Reveries will feature the story of Paul
Hornung, Notre Dame's "Golden Boy." Dick Shaap wrote the
following in an article from Sport Magazine: "In 1956
Notre Dame had a football team named Paul Hornung. He did everything. He
ran. He kicked. He passed. He tackled. He intercepted passes. Surrounded
by the walking wounded, playing for a team crippled by injuries, Hornung
was the whole show. His record was amazing. He finished second in
the country in total offense with 1,337 yards gained. He completed 59 of
111 passes (with 13 interceptions) and, ran 94 times for 420 yards."
The
feature article on Paul will be a story from Wake Up The Echoes
by Ken Rappoport.
