The following humor was taken from the February 1923 edition of The Juggler, the campus satire magazine. The Editors introduction to the issues share his misgivings about the Klan and evokes an ominous prediction of events that where to occur one year later.

When the idea of dressing The Juggler in a Ku Klux Klan costume and parading him for the enjoyment of his constantly growing audience was conceived it was at a the Klan was the favorite subject of ridicule and jest. But that time is now past. The Ku-Kus who have not been put to shame by nation-wide chorus of laughter directed at and their funny capers are the Ku-Kus who can be dealt with only by the use of more direct measures. What manner of action is most advisable, The Juggler does not presume to know. Government investigation does not appear to be the solution, disenfranchisement might help, economic warfare in the form of boycott has proven effective in some parts of the country. But any individual who joins the Klan now, after the publicity to which that organization has been subjected, joins from motives of malice and a dangerous hatred, and desire simply to belong to a secret organization of fabled power and deep, dark mysterious workings.
